Russia's UAC expects first flight of SSJ New jet soon
MOSCOW, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- The first flight of Russian jet SSJ New will take place soon, United Aircraft Corporation, part of industrial corporation Rostec, said on Tuesday.
"We have reached the final straight in preparing SSJ New for its first test flight. Experts at our premises have done big work to replace imports in all systems of the jet for Russia-made ones,” First Deputy CEO Vladimir Artyakov said, as cited in the statement.
“The aircraft has obtained a Russia-made operating system, avionics, chassis, hydraulics, air conditioning and many other things. The first flight will take place soon, after checks of the equipment on land."
In order to accelerate the test program, a first flight is to be made by a plane with French–Russian engines SaM146. The second sample jet will have Russia-made PD-8 engines that are to arrive at the plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in several weeks.
